Luis Ernesto Valdés Guerra is a Cuban drummer and percussion instructor specializing in classical and Afro-Cuban styles. With over 10 years of teaching and performance experience, he works with students of all ages. He currently teaches drums and percussion at The Performing Arts Academy of Ho Chi Minh City (PAA)
Luis is a Cuban percussionist and experienced music educator specializing in classical and Afro-Cuban percussion. With over a decade of teaching experience, he has taught students of all ages—from children to adults—through workshops, schools, and private lessons. A graduate in art and music education, Luis has performed with renowned Cuban artists and bands such as Luna Nueva, Patio Ageno, Adrede, and Annie Garcés.

He has appeared at major festivals including “Las Romerías de Mayo” and “Isla Verde,” playing across genres like flamenco, pop rock, Cuban popular music, and rap. After years working as a performer at Cayo Largo del Sur’s Starfish resort, he is now based in Vietnam, where he teaches drum set and Afro-Cuban percussion at The Performing Arts Academy of Ho Chi Minh City (PAA) and performs with an international music group.
